I'm supposed to be writing a very interesting post about a very interesting subject. Or so my husband thinks... he's downstairs doing something else while I use the computer because I said that I had to write about something very important in my blog. I've been looking at books on amazon, reading other blogs and drooling at things on Etsy... And I don't have anything to say. You'll see, my baby has been sick with the flu for more than a week now... I take care of her the whole day and we can't leave the house because of the weather (the doctor said it's better to stay inside, it's easy for him to say so while he's allowed to go out)... So I have to find like 298499 things during the day to keep her busy and by the time I have to work I'm drained... just empty. Don't have energy, don't have ideas... all I want to do is do nothing.... So here I am... doing nothing.... I hate that I wake up with so many ideas and energy and by the time I actually can do something is all gone...
Anyway, yesterday I made a Frida! I miss her... been a while since my last painting of her, but this time she comes 3D... She's on Ebay right now, and she will be the one doing the work...

I hope your baby feels better soon. I know how you feel, I have a 3 year old son and he is bored and wants to play all day so I barely get to work on my art during the day. When I do I feel guilty. I know it sounds bad but I am looking forward to him going to preschool so I can have some alone time during the day and he will be able to play with other children.

I really don't know how you can achieve all the things that you do with a baby. I wish I could achieve and make half as much art as you do.

Hang in there, it will improve. :)
Hola Danita! Nothing wrong with doing nothing once in a while...Don't forget it is almost full moon, so don't worry if you feel tired and lazy...Me gusta su Frida muneca mucho! Love her 'old' looks, like an antique toy. Hope your baby girl feels better soon... Take care, LuLu

Hi Danita,

Love the Frida doll and her cute accessories. I know how you feel, sick kids really do take all your energy. Mine were sick for weeks, and it left me with nothing to give. But they are better now, and spring is on it's way. I hope a dose of sunshine and the sounds of birds serves as a little pick-me-up for everyone. AND know sometimes it's okay to take a break. (If you're like me, you like to be productive at all times, but just propping your feet up for a while is exactly what we moms need sometimes.) Keep up the good work and I hope your little one feels better soon. :)

First off I love your work, it makes me feel good when I see it. I'm a Grand Mother and a creative person. I have depended on my abality to make art my entire life. It is dishearting when you are so tired or have huge family things going on. These are most important! Your art and spirit are strong and the well is deep. It will be there when you need it. Your spirit for doing art will just get stronger. Take care and enjoy your life.

Thanks for your wishes. You're right. We all need a break from time to time... and she comes first. I will have a LOT of time to make art later in life and I'm going to miss my little sunshine running around and screaming MOOOOOOOOOOOM every 5 seconds... life's too short and they grow so fast... I think I'm just tired :P

She is just beautiful! Hope you get to escape soon. That drives me nuts to be trapped.
Hello Danita! I love the new Frida. I am going to the Frida Exhibit in Philadelphia next week and I'm very excited!
Have a nice Easter!

Ok I normally lurk and drool over all your wonderful paintings and dollys~ and you have described just EXACTLY how I have been feeling~ to a T! I hadnt realized myself why I have been so 'empty' lately! THANKYOU~ I feel better allready! My 2 yr old fell and broke her leg~ allmost 6 weeks ago now, and your right~ Im exhausted at the end of the day, and after getting everyone to bed and its time for me to 'work'....I got no "umph" left in me.
Hope your little Angel gets better soon & you can rest up!

Hi Danita! Your doll is so cool, she's one of my favorites! I know how you feel, too. It isn't easy, being a mom and an artist and wife all rolled into one. It is wonderful but sometimes hard on us creative souls. :)
Hope you baby is well by now. Hopefully you can get out of the house soon. I hate cabin fever! Take care.

Dry spells are so tough, even if only for hours or day(s) at a time. I have had to struggle this week to pull anything together. I got one painting done and my shop needs at least 3 more plus sculptures..ARGH!! Tomorrow will be more creative!! {fingers crossed for both of us!}
Sorry to hear the lil one is not 100%. xoxo's & good health to you and baby~
